Summary
Two sets of small medals by Spink and Son Ltd., circa 1919, hung on silk ribbons and sewn to a silver pin bar. One medal from each set is of bronze lacquered copper cast with a winged classical female holding a torch (the Allied Victory Medal). The other medal in each set is made of silver and cast with the head of King George V in profile to left (the British War Medal). Medals are stored in individual boxes, one being an original Spink and Son box, the other being a square leather box.
Provenance
Attingham collection; bequeathed to the National Trust with the estate, house and contents of Attingham by Thomas Henry Noel-Hill, 8th Baron Berwick (1877-1947) on 15th May 1953.
