Summary
French hand held face screen with ebonised handle, gothic and classically inspired architectural frame to central hand-coloured engraving. A landscape, river lined with trees and a punt in the foreground, a large country house in the distance. Muslin backing. Printed maker's label on the reverse gives maker's details: 'A.Giroux and Cie. Rue du Coq St.Honore, No.7. a Paris'. Circa 1830.

Attingham collection; bequeathed to the National Trust with the estate, house and contents of Attingham by Thomas Henry Noel-Hill, 8th Baron Berwick (1877-1947) on 15th May 1953.
