Summary
A pair of French hand held face screens, each consisting of a flat, elongated octagonal board and turned ebonised handle. 3-leaved sprig printed on pink paper, cut out to reveal rotating discs printed with qualities of character. Applied gilt border, stamped with classical motifs. Circa 1820.

Attingham collection; bequeathed to the National Trust with the estate, house and contents of Attingham by Thomas Henry Noel-Hill, 8th Baron Berwick (1877-1947) on 15th May 1953.
