19th century circular gilt brass button for military uniform, the image of an elephant in profile to the left below a coronet. Inscribed around image: '1st Battalion 2nd Regiment' and under the elephant; 'ASSAYE'.

Attingham collection; bequeathed to the National Trust with the estate, house and contents of Attingham by Thomas Henry Noel-Hill, 8th Baron Berwick (1877-1947) on 15th May 1953.
