Summary
Bobbin lace cuff. Cream cotton threads bobbin lace with two mesh grounds and motifs outlined with gimp. Design; repeat 45 mm. Bell, flower and leaves. Straight footing, heading scalloped, seamed to form cuff. Made in Buckinghamshire, circa 1890.
Provenance
Found tied together by string with ATT/TC/188-191 with pencil note on paper by Lady Berwick which reads: 'Old Bucks'. This edging wrapped round business card for 'Gardner and Son'. 8th Lady Berwick collection; bequeathed to the National Trust by Edith Teresa Hulton, Lady Berwick (1890-1972).
