Summary
Bobbin lace border. Cream cotton threads, mesh ground, gimp outlining motifs. Design; repeat 50 mm, flower from mound with dot and flower. Rococo. Straight footing, heading follows design, cut either end. Made in Buckinghamshire 19th century.
Provenance
Found tied together by string with ATT/TC/188-191 with pencil note on paper by Lady Berwick which reads: 'Old Bucks'. This edging wrapped round business card for 'Gardner and Son'. 8th Lady Berwick collection; bequeathed to the National Trust by Edith Teresa Hulton, Lady Berwick (1890-1972).
