Summary
Scarlet trimmed military jacket (fd). Brown cotton satin weave. a) Crimson silk twill weave; b) scarlet cotton satin weave; c) twelve gilt buttons 24 mm diam; d) two gilt buttons 15 mm diam, with design of cannon; e) two gilt bullion worked stars; f) two embroidered '16' in yellow silk. Crimson rayon crepe. Hand and machine sewn, red high collar and cuffs, piping detail at front opening and bottom edge; straight sleeves and bodice. English manufacture circa 1930.
Provenance
Probably used for Fancy Dress or Theatricals. Attingham collection; bequeathed to the National Trust by Edith Teresa Hulton, Lady Berwick (1890-1972).
