Summary
Scarlet parliamentary robe. Scarlet wool plain weave raised nap (finer quality to the en suite robe bag). a) White fur in two widths; b) gilt metal braid 53 mm; c) black silk grosgrain ribbon 37 mm and 7 cm. Cream silk unbalanced plain weave 'taffeta'. Hand sewn. Round neck with fur collar. Braid and fur to one side over shoulder; fur edging side opening; braid edging neck opening to below waist, ribbon bow on opposite shoulder with draped fabric. Lined throughout. Supplied to 8th Lord Berwick by Ede & Ravenscroft of London.
