Summary
A sword supplied in 1903 by T.W. Cook Sons & Co. of 8 Clifford Street, London, part of a Diplomatic Uniform 5th class Attaché 1903; Full Dress and Levee Dress. The blade is of steel with engraved decoration of flowers and leaves, and coat of arms to Edward VII. Gilt metal thread braid 1.3 cm; Gilt bullion tassel 85 mm. Hand written note with uniform, 'Diplomatic Uniform 5th class Attache 1903. Full Dress and Levee Dress; Blue cloth coat, single breasted, stand collar lined with black silk, black velvet collar and cuffs gold lace no oak leaves. Buttons; gilt mounted the royal arms, without supporters; surmounted by the imperial crown. Boots;military patent leather. Hat; Black beaver cocked hat with black silk cockade. Black ostrich feather border.......' Lord Berwick entered the Diplomatic Service in 1903 and was posted to Paris.
