Summary
Sword belt, part of a Diplomatic Uniform 5th class Attaché 1903; Full Dress and Levee Dress. Ivory silk braid; cream wool raised nap; beige leather; gilt metal adjusters. Hand sewn. Hand written note with uniform, 'Diplomatic Uniform 5th class Attaché 1903. Full Dress and Levee Dress; Blue cloth coat, single breasted, stand collar lined with black silk, black velvet collar and cuffs gold lace no oak leaves. Buttons; gilt mounted the royal arms, without supporters; surmounted by the imperial crown. Boots; military patent leather. Hat; Black beaver cocked hat with black silk cockade. Black ostrich feather border.......' Made in 1903 for 8th Lord Berwick by T.W. Cook and Sons & Co., Diplomatic Tailors, London. Lord Berwick entered the Diplomatic Service in 1903 and was posted to Paris.
