Summary
Lace trimmed coverlet. Cream silk twill weave, embroidered in silk dyed to pink; yellow; green; gold; cream; brown also white worked in satin stitch, stem and french knots. Design; rose spray one corner, the ground with scattered rose buds. a) ivory/cream cable silk cord; b) white cotton machine woven lace. Border 550 mm a) ivory silk plain weave; b) interlining (?) Hand sewn. Oblong trimmed with a) and b) on four sides. Made in either England or Europe, circa 1890. May possibly have been the cot coverlet for Teresa Hulton, 8th Lady Berwick.
