Summary
Blue/grey mat in 'Pergolesi' pattern. Printed or resist dyed(?) cotton, floral design with birds Self fabric border machine sewn seams. All raw edges finished with herringbone. Printed cotton; cotton satin weave; dyed blue; printed grey (?) or resist dyed(?) Repeat not complete; floral; stem scrolls with birds; source of design uncertain? Self fabric border 80 mm. Design similar to main field. Early 20th century manufacture in Venice by Mariano Fortuny.

Attingham collection; bequeathed to the National Trust with the estate, house and contents of Attingham by Thomas Henry Noel-Hill, 8th Baron Berwick (1877-1947) on 15th May 1953.
