Summary
Embroidered panel / runner. Terracota cotton embroidered in wool, cotton and silk with mirror (Shisha) glass a) russet cotton b) brown cotton Hand sewn; hemmed on four sides; lining a) at either end, lined throughout. Woven cotton embroidered; cotton plain weave dyed terracota; embroidery threads; green and undyed wool; yellow and magenta silk; blue, green. Black cotton; worked in laid;couched;chain open and closed; creton buttonhole stitches with (shisha) glass. Main field of 3 repeating geometric forms, divided by spot motifs. Border geometric. a) russet mercerised cotton satin weave. b) brown (discoloured) cotton satin weave. Early 20th century hand embroidered in Gujarat, India.
