Summary
Printed cotton mat, 'Olympia' design. Twill weave cotton yellow/beige ground printed blue a) border of floral cartouches a) blue/grey cotton Hand and machine sewn; one repeat on main field, with border on four sides, lined throughout. Printed cotton, twill weave, dyed yellow/beige, printed blue (and brown outline?) Straight drop repeat; 1250 mm x 660 mm. As ATT/T(Gill Medland Cat)/4 but different colour-way. a) border, self fabric printed floral cartouches as ATT/T(Gill Medland Cat)/4. a) blue/grey cotton plain weave. Early 20th century manufacture in Venice by Mariano Fortuny.
