Summary
A portiere curtain. Brown cord. Gold/brown cotton corded velvet. Gold cotton. Hand sewn, hemmed on four sides, softly gathered to twill cotton braid 3.5cm heading band with eight hooks. Woven cotton; gold/brown cotton corded velvet. Vertical stripe Gold cotton 2/1 unbalanced plain weave. Colour change on lining suggests that intead of being a curtain for a door, it was used at a window. English manufacture circa 1950.
