Summary
One crimson wool curtain lining and three fragments of the same fabric. Crimson wool glazed finish completely hand sewn, folded at top and gathered, cut on three sides. Woven wool; wool dyed crimson, plain weave (tabby), glazed one side. Loom width 670 mm. Plain. English manufacture circa 1820.
Provenance
Removed from crimson damask window curtains in Sultana Room post 1950. Attingham collection; bequeathed to the National Trust with the estate, house and contents of Attingham by Thomas Henry Noel-Hill, 8th Baron Berwick (1877-1947) on 15th May 1953.
