Summary
Large rectangular Georgian style silver tea tray with rounded corners and two side handles. Decorated with gadrooned border and shells in foliate settings. Centre field engraved with the Berwick coat of arms and with an inscription on the back: 'Presented to Lord and Lady Berwick, on their Marriage by the Tenants on the Attingham Estate 30th June 1919'. Engraved by the supplier: ROBINSON & CO THE SQUARE SHREWSBURY. Sheffield manufacture in 1918. The tea tray was intended to be used in conjunction with a four-piece silver tea service consisting of teapot, hot water jug, milk jug and sugar basin, presented to 8th Lord and Lady Berwick by the Cottagers and Workmen on the Attingham Estate on the occasion of their marriage in June 1919.

Formerly 8th Lord and Lady Berwick collection. Bought back from Julia Hulton by the National Trust for Attingham Park July 1992.
