Summary
Fourteen chamber candlesticks with circular dish, fluted stem, and extinguisher on S-scroll fixture, foliate thumbpiece to side handle. Decorative gadrooned borders. Engraved with the Berwick coat of arms on dish, and crest on extinguisher and nozzle. Maker's mark, W.S., (possibly for William Stroud), London, 1804.
Provenance
Attingham collection; bequeathed to the National Trust with the estate, house and contents of Attingham by Thomas Henry Noel-Hill, 8th Baron Berwick (1877-1947) on 15th May 1953.

Lion Passant standard mark; Sovereign's Head duty mark; 'I' date letter; London Assay Office mark; 'WI' maker's initials in rectangle on base and extinguisher.
