Summary
Portrait miniature, watercolour on ivory, The Reverend Richard Noel-Hill, 4th Baron Berwick of Attingham (1774-1848) by George Engleheart (Kew 1750 – Blackheath 1839), signed and dated 1800. A head-and-shoulder portrait of a young man, turned slightly to right, gazing at the spectator, wearing a black coat and white cravat. Brown eyes, sallow complexion and short grey wig. Sky background. Glazed in a rectangular ebonised frame with brass slip and hanging ring. The sitting is recorded in Engleheart's fee books for 1800, together with another in 1809. Richard Noel Hill, 1774-1848, was the youngest son of Noel Hill, 1st Baron Berwick of Attingham. He succeeded his brother, William, as 4th Baron in 1842.

Attingham collection; bequeathed to the National Trust with the estate, house and contents of Attingham by Thomas Henry Noel-Hill, 8th Baron Berwick (1877-1947) on 15th May 1953.
