Summary
One of two black lacquered cast iron paper embossers operated by a hinged arm fitted with a turned ebonised handle; swan neck arm to a circular stamp, a coronet above 'B'. Painted with gilt scroll motifs. Manufactured by Parkins and Giotto of London, circa 1880.

Attingham collection; bequeathed to the National Trust with the estate, house and contents of Attingham by Thomas Henry Noel-Hill, 8th Baron Berwick (1877-1947) on 15th May 1953.
