The vases have two side handles with ormolu swan's head terminals. The vase is raised on a square tole plinth decorated with an ormolu leaf border. The vases were manufactured in France, circa 1810. Since 1994 when they were catalogued the vases have been painted black and turned into the bases of lamps with semi-circular glass shades that are used in the Drawing Room on a side table.
