Summary
French eight-day mantel clock in ormolu case with arched top by Thomire et Cie. The centre chased in relief with figure of St.Christopher. Gilt brass engine turned dial with painted black Roman numerals and steel Breguet hands. Two train, 4 pillar movement with anchor escapement, silk pendulum suspension and locking plate striking on bell. On rectangular plinth.
Provenance
Believed to be the 3rd Lord Berwick collection. William Noel-Hill, 3rd Baron Berwick (1773-1842). By descent, Attingham collection; bequeathed to the National Trust with the estate, house and contents of Attingham by Thomas Henry Noel-Hill, 8th Baron Berwick (1877-1947) on 15th May 1953.
