Summary
A pollard oak and rosewood breakfast, or centre, table, English, early 19th century. The top veneered in pollard oak and edge in rosewood crossbanding and carved rosewood mouldings. Raised on a broadening triangular column with matchstrike-carved corners terminating in scrolls. On a triangular base with concave edges and carved gadrooned mouldings and raised on scroll feet with brass castors.
Provenance
Attingham collection; bequeathed to the National Trust with the estate, house and partial contents of Attingham by Thomas Henry Noel-Hill, 8th Baron Berwick (1877-1947) and transferred to the National Trust on 15th May 1953.
