Summary
A tall, narrow roll of French scenic wallpaper, circa 1815-1865, from the series 'La Grande Helvétie' designed by Pierre Mongin and manufactured by Zuber of Rixheim. Gouache on paper. Printed with a group of three young gentlemen standing and talking in a forest. One gentleman, an artist, carries a sketchpad and an easel on his back. In the background are large trees hung with ivy.

Attingham collection; bequeathed to the National Trust with the estate, house and contents of Attingham by Thomas Henry Noel-Hill, 8th Baron Berwick (1877-1947) on 15th May 1953.
