Summary
A tall, narrow roll of French scenic wallpaper, circa 1815-1865, from the series 'La Grande Helvétie' designed by Pierre Mongin and manufactured by Zuber of Rixheim. Gouache on paper. Printed with a group of eight archers in a mountainous landscape, a chateau to the right. Below vast skyscape. Previously attributed to Joseph Dufour (fl.1805-1836) and later Velay of Paris.

Attingham collection; bequeathed to the National Trust with the estate, house and contents of Attingham by Thomas Henry Noel-Hill, 8th Baron Berwick (1877-1947) on 15th May 1953.
