Summary
Hexagonal ironstone jug with bulbous body raised on low foot, tapering neck with wide rim and moulded lip. Transfer printed decoration, ornamental pheasants among peonies and chrysanthemums, details picked out in enamel colours. Gilding. Transfer printed inscription in underglaze blue on underside: MASON'S PATENT IRONSTONE CHINA. Manufactured by Mason of Fenton, Staffordshire circa 1850.

Attingham collection; bequeathed to the National Trust with the estate, house and contents of Attingham by Thomas Henry Noel-Hill, 8th Baron Berwick (1877-1947) on 15th May 1953.
