Caption
At over 6 foot in height, this chandelier is amongst the largest of Attingham's objects. It will be taken down as part of the roof project and placed in a windowed-box so it can be viewed up close and in detail.
Summary
Ormolu and cut glass chandelier with nozzles for twelve sconces hung with elaborate tiers and cascades of cut glass drops and pendants. English manufacture circa 1810.
Provenance
Believed to be 3rd Lord Berwick collection: William Noel-Hill, 3rd Baron Berwick (1773-1842). By descent bequeathed to the National Trust with the estate, house and contents of Attingham by Thomas Henry Noel-Hill, 8th Baron Berwick (1877-1947) on 15th May 1953.
