Summary
A woman's wedding dress, part of an ensemble, made from oyster silk satin. The dress is sleeveless, with a V-shaped neckline and lines of decorative stitching for shaping on the bodice to the hip. The skirt front has a shaped and shortened hem, allowing around eight inches of the pleated silk satin hem of the underdress to be seen. The skirt back is floor-length and lined with a central panel of matching pale pink silk. Otherwise the dress is unlined, with concealed weights at knee-level left and right, two self-covered buttons on the neckline (one missing) and fifteen hooks and eyelets centre back, intact.
