Summary
A woman dress, made from fawn silk taffeta. The dress is decorated on the bodice with pleating centre front and piped seams, with full-length sleeves which have a puffed sleeve-head and matching piped binding on the cuffs. The dress is fully lined in cotton lawn, with a slim wool padded hem and fastens with four hooks and eyes centre back, intact. A handwritten label stitched to the inner lining of the dress reads, "Taylor". A further small paper label attached to the uppermost eye on the back of the dress reads, "Taylor. 50. CF025. Fawn Dress". This is an original auction label for the dress, which was purchased by the donor in the md-20th century.
