Summary
A woman's pelisse, made from emerald green figured silk. The figured silk is decorated with small dots across the entire ground, with extensive piping in matching green silk on the shawl collar, the bodice both front and back, the front facings of the skirt, the cuffs and also on the matching integral belt in a pattern of looped flowers and leaves. The bodice is fully lined in calico, with the sleeves partially lined in calico and partially lined in yellow silk twill. The pelisse skirt is fully lined in yellow silk twill and has a small white silk pad at the back of the waist, to support the skirt pleats and add volume. The pelisse fastens with five hooks and eyes on the bodice centre front, intact, with a further eleven self-covered buttons and matching green silk loops on the skirt, three buttons missing. The integral belt also originally fastened with two hooks and eyes, centre front, but both are missing. A handwritten label sewn into the bodice lining reads, "Taylor".
