Summary
A man’s Mess Dress waistcoat, part of a uniform. The waistcoat is made from scarlet wool twill lined with white/black cotton sateen and a scarlet wool sateen back and adjustment strap, The front of the waistcoat is edged with gold Russian braid and with Russian braid frogging around the pocket slits. The waistcoat features a line of decorative gilt button pips centre front, but is fastened using five concealed hooks and eyes.
