Summary
A woman's skirt, Chinese in origin and manufactured for the export, made from scarlet brocaded silk. The skirt is brocaded in a floral pattern with two panels of dense pleating proper right and left hand sides. It is decorated across the front, back and on the hem of the skirt with rectangular panels of silk satin in light and dark blue, which are decorated with silk thread embroidery in turquoise, white, black purple and dark blue in a scattered floral pattern. A deep waistband is made from pale pink linen and there are six pale pink knotted fabric buttons and matching loops for fastening, intact.
