Summary
A mock Chinese Ch'i-fu robe for an Imperial Duke, made for the tourist trade. The collarless robe is made from royal blue silk satin, embroidered with a combination of silk and gilt thread embroidery in traditional motifs of dragons, water, flowers, cranes and with a diagonally striped lower hem. The long sleeves are made from black striped silk, with a horseshoe shaped cuff in black silk with embroidery to match the robe. It is fully lined in a combination of blue linen, silk and white cotton (inner sleeves) and fastens on the right hand side with five gilt metal pip buttons with loops, intact.
