Summary
A woman's cap for a maid, made from starched white cotton lawn. The cap is constructed of two layers of goffered lawn stitched to a double seam of white cotton lawn centre back. It is decorated with a single line of drawn thread work on the border and has a black ribbon stitched directly onto the cap centre front. This ribbon was used both for decoration and fastening.
