Summary
A woman's apron/overalls for a nurse, made from white linen. The overalls have capped sleeves, with two lines of drawn thread work on the bodice centre front and a further line of drawn thread work on the patch pocket, right hand side. The overalls have two linen waist ties and a single button on the neck centre back for fastening, intact. A handwritten marking on an inner neck seam reads, "C. McA. 47". This probably relates to a previous owner/user of the overalls, as these items were often passed down to other nursing colleagues.
Provenance
Gift of Mrs Doreen Brown.
