Summary
A woman's bodice made from black silk satin. The bodice is decorated on the square neckline with gathered cream cotton lawn, with matching flounces of cream cotton lawn on the cuffs of the elbow-length sleeves. It is fully lined in brown and cream striped cotton and has eleven self-covered buttons centre front for fastening, intact. There are eleven boning strips and an internal waist tie made from cream cotton tape, also intact. A small bar brooch made from jet and silver metal is attached to the right hand side front facing, top, which is not original to the bodice.
