Summary
A woman's nightgown made from white cotton calico. The long-sleeved gown is trimmed on the shawl collar, cuffs and bib with broderie anglaise edging, feather stitch embroidery and pintucks. The front facings are trimmed with matching broderie anglaise and there are five self-covered buttons for fastening centre front, intact.

Inner front facing, upper left side.: A very faint marking on an inner seam reads, "J. A. Johnston" (?). See associated photograph for further details.
