Summary
A woman's modesty vest, made from ecru silk net. The ecru silk ground is decorated with ecru Carrickmacross style applique silk lace in a stylised Art Nouveau design with needlerun infilling, creating a neckline and extending in a v-shape on the bib to the lower hem, otherwise undecorated. Internally, the vest is unlined and has no fastenings.

Gift of Mrs Barwick, Deal, Kent. Made by Miss Courtney, Kirkwall, Orkney, for Mrs Barwick in Rhodesia, in 1927-1930. Brought to the collection via Judith Dore.
