Summary
A woman's Dorothy-style handbag, made from black silk satin. The bag is decorated around the upper edge and the lower half with black jet beading in a floral motif, with a beaded tassel attached to the base. It has a black cotton cord drawstring, threaded through black painted wooden eyelets around the bag top, which closes the bag and also creates a carrying handle. It is fully lined in black silk satin. A maker's stamp on the inner lining of the bag reads, "J. Duvelleroy. Regent Street. W1. Manufactured in Paris".
