Summary
A woman’s Nurse Uniform (ARP) dating from WWII. Royal blue cotton drill smock with initials ‘ARP’ (Air Raid Precautions) embroidered in red cotton across front yoke. Short puff sleeves with turn back cuffs. centre back cross-over opening with waist tie fastening and two buttons. Two buttons at centre back neck opening and one near centre back hem.Turn down collar at front. Patch pocket proper right front. NB - Pocket contained white cotton shaped cloth with two fabric covered metal buttons, a nurses cap. Two metal hairclips and two safety pins and a certificate of occupation printed on brown paper with name Mrs M Gladys Adams, dated October 1940. These items have now been assessed and catalogued appropriately as separate items within a group of associated items.
