Summary
A woman's waistcoat made from black wool facecloth. The short, bolero-style waistcoat is decorated across the main ground with laid silver thread embroidery in a mixed motif, with fourteen matching pips along the waistcoat front facings (two missing). Fully lined in salmon pink cotton sateen, the waistcoat has two short sleeves made from pale pink silk crepe which have been added to the waistcoat historically and are not original. They are edged with a strung row of plastic pearls (string failed and many pearls missing). Possibly fancy dress. A handwritten note inside the lining of the waistcoat reads, "Ferguson. Gift", the donor.
