Summary
A woman's dress made from mid brown silk taffeta. The bodice is decorated with piped seams and diagonal lines of pleating which extend over the shoulder and meet on the waistband centre back. The large, full-length sleeves are "leg of mutton" style, with an extensively pleated upper sleeve which tapers to a fitted forearm and cuff which is decorated with strapwork and further pleating. Internally the dress is fully lined in brown glazed cotton and fastens centre back with six hooks and eyes, intact.
