Summary

A woman's chemisette made from cream silk satin. The chemisette pleated bib front and high collar are decorated with roundels "Elizabethan" style in a combination of silver and pastel-coloured silk thread embroidery and are otherwise undecorated. Internally, the chemisette is unlined except for the collar and fastens with three metal hooks and eyes on the collar centre back, intact. Possibly Turkish or Persian in origin.
