Summary
A woman's jacket, a "Spencer", made from white cotton lawn. The jacket is woven with an overall pattern of squares, with a wide shawl collar trimmed with a cotton lawn frill and full-length sleeves which have a matching double cotton lawn frill on the cuff. The spencer is partially lined with linen (bodice back and half-sleeves) and fastens crossover-style centre front with two cotton tape ties, intact and a further two cotton tape ties centre back for adjustment, also intact.
