Summary
A woman's parasol made from lace, silk and ivory. The parasol canopy has an outer face of black machine lace layered over cream silk taffeta, which has a small floral stamped design and pinking on the border. It is fully lined in white silk, also with a floral stamp and pinking. The ferrule, articulated shaft and small round handle are made from ivory, carved with a swag and tassel motif, with etched brass trim and two black silk tassels. A small label stitched to an inner lining reads, "Rea", the donor.
