Summary
A woman's shoe from a pair of shoes, made from black kid leather. The shoe is front-lacing, with decorative piercing around the lace holes, otherwise undecorated. It has a low Louis-style heel made from wood and is partially lined in canvas at the toe, with the original laces intact. A maker's mark on the sole of the shoe reads, "Phillips. Top Quality Stick On Soles". This marking relates to the later addition of both a new sole and heel tip and not the shoe itself.
Marks and inscriptions
On the sole, a later addition to the shoe.: A maker's mark on the sole of the shoe reads, "Phillips. Top Quality Stick On Soles". This marking relates to the later addition sole and not the shoe itself. See associated photograph for further details.
