Summary
A woman's bodice, part of an ensemble, made from canary yellow silk taffeta with a cream embroidered cotton net overlay in a floral pattern. The embroidered net is also used to create both a wide shawl collar and cuff flounces on the half-length sleeves, with a length of plain cream cotton net creating a modesty panel centre front. The bodice fastens centre front with fifteen mother-of-pearl buttons, four missing, and a single hook and eye on the neckline, intact. It is fully lined in cream cotton twill, with an integral waist tie made from a cotton and silk twill blend and has nine boning strips. Stamped in gold lettering on the inner waist tie, "Mrs Anderson. Milliner & Dressmaker. Lucknow".
