Summary
A woman's bodice made from black moire silk taffeta. The long-sleeved bodice is decorated on the stand collar, cuffs and in two curving lines from the shoulder to the armholes with jet passementerie in a mixed floral and diamond motif. It is fully lined in beige cotton twill, with eleven boning strips and eighteen hooks & eyes for fastening centre front, intact. There is also an internal waist tie which is made from a cotton/horsehair blend which fastens with a single hook & eye, intact. Handwritten on the inner bodice lining in black ink, "Ferguson", the donor.
