Summary
A woman's bodice, part of an evening dress, made from cream figured silk taffeta (faded from original pale grey). The cap-sleeved bodice is decorated with a diagonally pleated yoke, along with bands of silk braid and fringing on the collar, sleeves and front, with a large ribbon and braid bow centre front and on the left shoulder. Each decorative tier on the sleeves has been lined with tulle for fullness. The bodice is partially lined in cream silk, with seven boning strips and two internal waist ties, all intact, and fastens with lacing centre back, original lace missing. Handwritten on both inner waist ties in black ink, "M.B.A.McCord", the donor. To go with 602776.1, matching skirt.
