Summary
A woman's plastron made from white cotton organdie. The plastron is simply decorated with a single line of faggotting stitch around the collar base and from neckline to lower hem, with a panel of pleating across the collar centre back and twelve decorative mother-of-pearl buttons extending from the top of the collar to mid-bib centre front. The plastron is unlined, has four metal boning strips on the collar and fastens with five metal snap fasteners centre front, intact. A probably laundry mark inside the centre front seam of the plastron, bottom right, reads, "3431"
